Laboratory Services

The primary intent of the Niagara Falls Water Quality Laboratory is to monitor the quality of process and distribution water in the City.  We are commercially approved by the New York State Environmental Laboratory Approval Program (ELAP), which is a NELAP recognized accreditation body, to conduct analytical work for other entities.  Being regulated through the New York State Sanitary Code Part V guidelines our concentration has been to deliver accurate & defendable data through the best analytical techniques available.

In an effort to keep up with changing EPA regulations the Water Board has made major investments in the laboratory pertaining to long term monitoring programs and on a limited scale opened our services to the surrounding Towns & Villages in Niagara County.  Our contracted volume has a cap in an effort to maintain the highest analytical quality and professional consultations; expansion is always a consideration if the need arises.
